Artist Statement

​

When viewing my work it is easy to see that I enjoy playing with and sharing the vibrancy of color.  My subjects mostly spring to life from my imagination and are often mystical or up to some magical mischief.  

The only plan in my Intuitive process is the central figure (s), with the rest being the pure play of layering, free hand drawing with paint, and painting what comes up. (Maybe a tree, imaginary flowers, or a baby bird)  I will often giggle as I add these, or walk by my work in progress in my studio.   

I  find joy in the process as the painting reveals itself, and in the comments I receive such as, "Magical," Oh, the colors!", Or, the best one yet, "What is the story behind this one?". This is when the work enters the universe through the viewers imagination, and then takes on a life of its own.
